Introducing Flower School

The Front Porch Farm Flower School is a hands-on course covering the fundamental principles, practices, and techniques of sustainable cut-flower production. Using the fields, high tunnels, greenhouse, and floral studio of Front Porch Farm as our classroom, this course will be a practical overview of the components of successful flower farming in Sonoma County, from seed starting through sales.

Class topics will include crop planning, propagation, bed preparation, pest and disease management, fertility, harvest and post-harvest handling, as well as styling and marketing cut flowers. Course instructors are Zoe Hitchner, Flower Program Manager at FPF for the last 11 years, with support from Clare Riesman, local farm and garden educator. The course will meet the second Sunday of each month* from January through June 2026 at Front Porch Farm.
