Fall Flower Production Workshop

  • Front Porch Farm 2550 Rio Lindo Avenue Healdsburg, CA, 95448 United States (map)

Come spend a day at Front Porch Farm learning about fall flower production! This workshop will be a sampler field day of key fall flower activities: planting mums, harvesting fall flowers, and starting ranunculus & anemone corms. Participants will learn from Front Porch Farm Flower Program Manager, Zoe Hitchner, and local farm and garden educator, Clare Riesman, about best practices in cool season cut flower production.

This hands-on event is geared towards backyard & beginner flower growers who are looking to deepen their knowledge of production outside the summer season. The Fall Flower Workshop is open to all and is a great opportunity for people who are curious about Flower School to get a sense of the program’s curriculum & approach. We will cover different topics and activities in the workshop than we will in Flower School, but the structure & instructors will be the same!

Activities:

  • Morning mum plant out

  • Fall flower harvest

  • Starting ranunculus & anemones

Details:

  • Bring your own lunch! We will take a lunch break midway through the day (around 12:30)

  • Dress for the weather & be ready to get a little dirty planting

  • Workshop runs rain or shine as all activities will be under protected cover
